Marguerite Mooney (5-13-12)

WINDER – Marguerite Cox Mooney, 93, died Sunday, May 13, 2012.

Born in Taliaferro County, she was the daughter of the late Fred E. Cox Sr. and Mary Austin Cox. She was a member of Midway Christian Church and a homemaker. Mrs. Mooney was preceded in death by her husband, Morgan Mooney; brothers, Lamar, Paul (Red), Fred, Reese and Ralph Cox; sisters, Irene Morris, Montine, Inez, Myrtie and Hazel Cox; great-granddaughter, Vonda Carter and son-in-law, Joe Carter.

Survivors include daughter, Reba Carter, Winder; grandchildren, Tommy (Barbara) Carter; sister-in-law, Alice Cox, Benson, N.C., nine nieces, two nephews and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 15, at Smith Memory Chapel with C.B. Skelton and Pat Cox Penny officiating. Burial will be at Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Monday, May 14 from 6 to 9 p.m.
