JEFFERSON - Jeanette N. Skelton, 66, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2012, at her residence following a period of declining health.
She was born in Jefferson, the daughter of the late James Emory and Mary Wright Nalley. She retired from Jackson County Board of Education and was a high school teacher for many years. She was also was a teacher with Jefferson High School and was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, David V. Skelton, Jefferson; son, Mark Fowler, Jefferson; stepdaughter, Jessica Rogers, Hoschton; stepson, Chad Skelton, Jeffersonville; grandchildren, Clay, Jesse, Jay, Summer Fowler; step grandson, Lucas Rogers; sisters, Maggie Hutchins, Jefferson, and Joyce and Buster Covington, Jefferson; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 29, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Mark Mobley, Swayne Cochran and Jerry Smith officiating. Interment was at Evans Memory Gardens. Those honored as pallbearers were Jesse Fowler, Jay Fowler, Clay Fowler, Trey Beck, Trent Beck, and Chuck Tolbert.
Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, was in charge of arrangements.
