Mildred Rantz (5-2-12)

FLOWERY BRANCH - Mildred Louise Rantz, 90, formerly of Melbourne, Fla., passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at New Horizons West Nursing Home.

She was born August 23, 1921, the daughter of the late Harry and Alta Odell of Elwood, Ind. She had a lengthy career as a Registered Nurse and retired from Beverly Nursing Home. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Flowery Branch, The Azalea Garden Club, Zeta Zeta Chapter of the Sigma Alpha Sorority, and a former member of First Baptist Church, Gainesville. Mrs. Rantz was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, Francis R. Rantz.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Susan Rantz, Austin, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Mike Cato, Flowery Branch; daughters, Robyn Rantz, Alpharetta, and Terri Stanley, Cumming; sister, Doris Reed, Benton, Ky.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 5, from the chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home. The Rev. Chuck Nation will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 4, at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.
