CLEVELAND - Lou Dell Wehunt, 83, died Friday April 27, 2012, at a private nursing home.
Born in White County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Julie Ann Smallwood O'Kelley. She was a homemaker and a member of the Wauka Mountain Baptist Church. Mrs. Wehunt was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Howard J.W. Wehunt; grandson, Andrew Dockery; step-great-grandson, Isaiah Martin; brothers, T.W. O'Kelley, Eloise O'Kelley, and B.C. O'Kelley; sisters, Cora Lee, Bessie O'Kelley, Elsie Lee, and Dorothy Sullens.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Lamar Loggins, Gainesville, Loyce and Joe Shoffeitt, Cleveland, Oretta "Rita" and Stan Trammell, Rome; grandchildren, Allan and Vanessa Christy, Cleveland, Sherry and Brent Buffington, Cleveland, Bridget and Eric Story, Clermont, Starr and Travis Harvill, Byron, Charles "Chuck" and Suzanne Loggins, Gainesville, Shelly Seabolt and Felicia Jordan, both of Cornelia, Daniel and Rachel Loggins, both of Braselton, Joseph Shoffeitt, Murrayville, David and Rebecca Trammell, Nicholson, Jennifer Trammell, Center, Stephen and Sabrina Trammell, Commerce; 21 great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Gene and Martha O'Kelley, Clermont.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday May 1, at the Wauka Mountain Baptist Church. The Revs. Gene O'Kelley, Phillip Wehunt, Tim Hicks, Tim Bennett, Shane Wehunt and Chad Wehunt will officiate. Interment will follow in the Wauka Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery with a white dove release. The family will receive friends at the Little & Davenport Funeral Home Monday April 30, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., and again from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
