DEMOREST – Billy Sam Barnette, 77, formerly of Braselton, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2012, at Stephens County Hospital.
He was born in Jackson County on October 21, 1934, the son of the late Ralph and Effie Bond Barnette. Mr. Barnette was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Melissa Barnette. He was a member of the Cool Springs United Methodist Church. He served as a music director for the Lord for 35 years. He retired from
Pet Milk Company with 38 and one-half years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Ivie Barnette, Demorest; sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Tracey Barnette, Flowery Branch, Timmy and Linda Barnette, Gainesville; and Ted Barnette, Auburn; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Monday, April 30, at Barrow Memorial Gardens in Winder with the Rev. Roy G. Rogers officiating.
Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, was in charge of arrangements.
