FLOWERY BRANCH - Verna Mae Buddenhagen passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012, following an extended illness. She gave 90 years of love and devotion to all she knew.
She was born October 9, 1921, the daughter of the late Walt and Pauline Waters of Claxton, and was married for 20 years to the late Henry L. Buddenhagen. A son, Carl Brantley Sapp of Savannah, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughters, Pauline Bishop and Edwin Faulkner and Sandra Sapp, all of Flowery Branch; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Loretta Waters, Claxton; sister, Carolyn Robertson, Brooklet; five grandchildren, John Harris, Midway, Les and Jan Moore, Gainesville, Teresa Cannon, Gillsville, Billy Bishop, Gillsville, Robert B. Bishop, Flowery Branch, and Charles Bishop, Gainesville; five great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 10, at Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery in Claxon, Georgia.
Memorial Park South Funeral Home, Flowery Branch, is in charge of arrangements.
