WILLIS, VA. - Eva Mae Meeler Evans, 79, formerly of Banks County, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2012.
She was born on November 3, 1932, in Homer, the daughter of the late Swayne Lee and Monta Caudell Meeler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Grady Evans; daughter, Paula Evans; and brothers, Billy Meeler and Lloyd Meeler. Mrs. Evans was a homemaker and a member of the Damascus Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters, Elaine Evans and friend, Richard Schrunk, Lawrenceville, Karen Pearson and friend, Wayne Fleming, Sterling, Va., and Penny Schmitt, Lawrenceville; son, Mark Evans, Willis, Va.; son-in-law, John Pearson, Broad Run, Va.; brother and sister-in-law, James and Jean Meeler, Cornelia; and grandchildren, Joseph Pearson, Luke Pearson and his spouse, Alexis, and Sara Schmitt.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Revs. Luther Williams and Michael Hembree officiating. Interment will follow in the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 27, at the funeral home.
