Shirley Deaton (4-24-12)

WINDER – Shirley Clark Deaton, 72, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012.

Born in Atlanta, she was the daughter of the late Dallas and Irene Deaton Clark. She was retired from Barrow County Schools where she was a parapro. She was a member of Winder First Baptist Church where she was a faithful worker, and a member of a Red Hat Club.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Ray Deaton, Winder; son, Kevin Deaton, Buford; daughter, Robin (Rickey) Bailey, Winder; grandchildren, Leigh and Brad Boggs, Winder, and Whitney Bailey, Harrogate, Tenn.; great-grandson, Landon Boggs; brothers, Darrell (Martha) Clark, Bogart, and Tim (Pam) Clark, Carlton; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 27, at 11 a.m. from Smith Memory Chapel with John Talley officiating. Burial will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, April 26, from 5 to 8 p.m.
