ELBERTON - Ida Mae Borders, 87, wife of the late Thomas Eugene "Gene" Borders, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012.
A native of the Red Hill Community, Stephens, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Herschel and Nelia Segars Ivester and mother of the late Patricia Scogin. She was a homemaker and member of Solid Rock Family Worship Center in Elberton.
Survivors include her son, Bobby (Hazel) Forrester, Elberton; daughter, Angie (Michael) Embry, Colbert; son-in-law, Bruce Scogin, Colbert; grandchildren, Nick Forrester, Larry (Sandra) Tiller, Trent Tiller, Clint (Tammy) Tiller, Missy (Rich) Hatfield, Kendra Embry and Karissa Embry; 14 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 26, at 1 p.m. at Lord & Stephens Danielsville Chapel with the Rev. James Gunn officiating. Burial will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens South, Royston. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, at the funeral home.
