COMER - William J. “Billy” Daniel, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 19, 2012.
He was the son of the late Carlton and Ruby Johnson Daniel. He retired from USDA Forestry Service, where he received numerous outstanding achievement awards. He was a member of Comer Baptist Church for over 50 years, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years. He was an active member of Comer Lions Club. He was a loving Daddy, Papa and husband.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Joyce Morrison Daniel; sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis (Kathy) Daniel, Colbert, and Darrell (Cindy) Daniel and David (Betsy) Daniel, all of Watkinsville; grandchildren, Ashley (Michael) Caputa, Candice, Justin, Jennifer, Dempsey, Kimzey and Haleigh Daniel; two great-grandchildren, Jada and Chapel Caputa; three sisters, Ouida Phillips, Myra Peace and Ann Clary; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Comer Baptist Church on Saturday, April 21, at 2 p.m. with the Revs. Rodney Owens and Stuart Lang officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 20, at Lord & Stephens Danielsville Chapel.
