JEFFERSON - Betty Brown Carruth Arnold passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2012.
She was born in Nicholson, the daughter of the late William and Viola Threlkeld Brown. She attended Athens Business College. Mrs. Arnold retired from Athens Clarke County 911 Communications Office with 20 years of service. She also worked with the Jefferson City Police Department as a dispatcher operator. Mrs. Arnold was a member of Galilee Christian Church.
Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Jacque Carruth Marlowe and Shannon Carruth Petering and her husband, Donald, all of Jefferson; a sister, Hazel Jean Flynn, College Park; two granddaughters, Jessica Marlowe and Ally Petering; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Thursday April 19, at 2 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Tom Plank officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park in Athens. Those honored as pallbearers are Caughey Mitchell, Jim Fambrough, Jeff Harrison, Lamar Ash, Michael Tate and Daryl Rodgers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, is in charge of arrangements.

Thomas Rylee loved this lady! He visited her almost every weekend. He missed this past weekend because of waiting on the phone company who never showed up. He is taking it pretty hard. She must have been a special lady! Miss Betty will be greatly missed!
