COMMERCE - Joanne Nix, 76, died Sunday, April 15, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospice House.
Ms. Nix was born in Jackson County, the daughter of Eutelle Wilson Nix of Commerce and the late Joseph D. Nix. She was a member of the Hapeville First United Methodist Church. She was an art professor at Georgia College and was a member of the American Art Therapists Association.
Survivors in addition to her mother, include a brother, Lamar Nix, Seabrook, S.C.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 18, at Apple Valley Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Hayes officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday night, April 17, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
