Donald Crisler, 81, of Alpharetta, died away Monday, September 1, 2008, at Embracing Hospice in Cumming, following an extended illness.
Born in Maysville on May 9, 1927, he was the son of the late Robert Garr and Thara Cornelia Richey Crisler. He served in the Army during World War II, in Bremen Germany. He was a member of New Light Baptist Church in Cumming for about 15 years. Mr. Crisler was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Horton Crisler; a son Keith Crisler; brothers and sisters; J. D. Crisler, Helen Little, Robert Crisler, Bernice Parker, Sue Jacques, Martha Crisler, Sadie Turner, Harold Crisler, John Crisler and Faye Jones.
Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Donna and Danny Silvers and Debbie Gilleland; grandchildren, Derin and Drew Silvers, Alpharetta, Caleb and Hannah Gilleland, Cumming; brother, Jack and Junan Crisler, Athens; and many other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 3, at 2:00 pm at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ricky Waters, Tim Biddy and Johnny Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 until 9 pm.
