Elsie Godsted Rosynek passed away on Palm Sunday, April 1, 2012, after suffering complications from Alzheimer’s.
She was born in Chicago to Danish parents, Jim and Mimi Godsted, where she grew up across the street from her husband, Frank Rosynek. After his service in the United States Army Air Force, they married and raised six daughters. Their marriage of love and devotion lasted for almost 66 years. Frank preceded her in death just three months ago.
Elsie worked for Davison’s Department Store at Lenox Mall for over 20 years, selling clothing in the Georgian Room and later became personnel manager.
She and her husband enjoyed retirement in Boynton Beach, Fla. for nearly 20 years, joining family, making new friends and traveling.
Survivors include six daughters, Sandra Beem, Commerce, Karen Cox, Orlando, Fla., Ellen Khoury, Atlanta, Pam Carter, Jefferson, Mimi Sullivan, Alpharetta, and Katherine Rosynek, Smyrna; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, the youngest being named in her honor; and brothers, James Godsted, Wesley Chapel, Fla., and Glenn Godsted, Schereville, Ind.
A private service was held at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton on Good Friday, April 6, 2012.
