Faron Segars (4-4-12)

HOMER - Faron William Segars, 50, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Athens Regional Medical Center.

He was the son of the late William Grimes and Lucille Hood Segars. He was born June 22, 1961 in Oconee County, S.C., having lived most of his life in Banks County. He was formerly employed in housing construction and was of the Baptist denomination.

Survivors include brothers and sister-in-law, Jerby and Pat Segars, Toccoa, and Johnny Segars, Homer; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 7, at 2 p.m. at Currahee Baptist Church Cemetery with the Revs. David Carithers, Henry Nicely and Doug Studdard officiating.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Jerby Segars, Terry Carlan, Toby McIntyre, John Thomas McMillan, Jr., Ricky Segars, Robert Segars, David Mealor and Hubert Carlan.

The family will be at the Segars Home place, 156 Chatham Road, Homer, Georgia, and at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jerby Segars, 1206 Whispering Pines Road, Toccoa, and will receive friends at Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday, April 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will follow in Currahee Baptist Church Cemetery.
