MAYSVILLE – Gerald C. Turpin, 73, died Monday, April 2, 2012.
He was born in Gillsville, the son of the late Arvil and Aileen Bryant Turpin. He worked as a welder with Gainesville Equipment and was of the Baptist denomination. Mr. Turpin was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Savage Turpin; sisters, Dorothy Sargent and Sybil Grindle; and brothers, John Arvil Turpin and Marion Turpin.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Patricia Turpin, Jr., Gainesville, Bradley Turpin, Gainesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy Ann and Rex Evans, Gillsville, Deborah and Leon Whitfield, Clermont; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday April 5, in the Ward's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Knight officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 3, and Wednesday, April 4, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
