MONROE – Emery Earl Tackett Sr., 86, died Monday, April 2, 2012.
Born in Paintsville, Ky., he was the son of the late Francis Marion and Lizzie Blanton Tackett. Mr. Tackett was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Boyd Tackett. He was a member of the Winder First United Methodist Church, The Winder First United Methodist Men’s Group, was owner/operator of E.T. Textile Manufacturing, was a member of the VFW, and was a member of the Jug Tavern Senior Men’s Golf Association. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army serving in the Korean War.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Nancy Pack, Moraine, Ohio, Emery Earl Tackett Jr. and Kathy Tackett, River Falls, Wisc., and Richard F. and Jamie Tackett, Casa Grande, Ariz.; daughter and son-in-law, Victoria and Eric Patrick, Winder; six grandchildren, including Erica Patrick Shepley and husband, Russell, Winder; and five great-grandchildren, including Erilynn Shepley, Winder.
Entombment will be at Barrow Memorial Gardens and the funeral services will be held at the grave side on Wednesday, April 4, at 4 p.m. The Rev. Larry Rary will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, April 3, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Winder First United Methodist Church Preschool Fund or Relay for Life.
