ATHENS - Florence Pittman Johnston, 94, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012.
A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Eva Barber Pittman and was preceded in death by her husband, Linton Gordon Johnston Sr.; daughter, Gloria, and 10 siblings.
Survivors include a daughter, Evalyne Eckles, Green Cove Springs, Fla.; sons, Darryl Johnston, Nicholson, and Linton "Sonny" Johnston, Athens; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregiver, Maria Ramirez Gonzalez.
A graveside service was held Sunday, April 1, at Beth Haven Cemetery, Nowhere Rd. in Athens.
Bernstein Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Athens, was in charge of arrangements.
