COMMERCE - Kenneth W. Harmon, 60, died Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Northridge Medical Center.
He was born in Biloxi, Miss., the son of Marion M. Hutton Harmon of Albuquerque, N.M. and the late, Chester E. Harmon. He was a counselor for the Georgia Department of Corrections, Member of the Commerce First United Methodist Church, United States Air Force Veteran that served in Vietnam and Desert Storm, President of the Commerce Lions Club, lifelong Boy Scouts supporter and leader, and a Scouting Executor for the Boy Scouts.
Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife, Christine (Chris) Jenkins Harmon, Commerce; sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Jacki Harmon, Jr., Commerce, and Jake and April Harmon, Jefferson; grandchildren, Private Zach Harmon, Allie Harmon, and Katie Harmon; brothers, Dr. Bruce Harmon, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Steve Harmon, Albuquerque, N.M.; and sister, Karen Lineburger, Marriott Island, Fla.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 5, at 2 p.m. from the Commerce First United Methodist Church with David Bowen officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday night, April 4, from 4 to 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Commerce Lions Club, 74 Asland Dr., Commerce, GA 30529.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
