DANIELSVILLE – Virginia Davis Sorrells, 82, died Friday, March 30, 2012, at her residence.
Born in Madison County on March 29, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Grady and Bertie Hall Davis. She was an instruction aide and a member of the Bethel M Baptist Church. Mrs. Sorrells was preceded in death by her husband, Dewitt Sorrells; brother, Fred Davis; and sisters, Idell Fortson, Bessie Hendrix, Helen Crowe and Hazel Huff.
Survivors include daughters, Judy Vaughn and Janice Phillips, both of Danielsville; a son, Jimmy Sorrells, Danielsville; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Joe Davis, Danielsville; and sisters, Lessie Bridges, Danielsville, and Carole Hope, Gainesville.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 1, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home with the Revs. Joe Davis, Joey Davis and Reggie Vaughn officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel M Baptist Church Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends Saturday evening, March 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. The family is at home.
