Deward Ausborn (3-29-12)

TOCCOA - Deward Ausborn, 69, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2012, at the Habersham Medical Center.

He was born on November 10, 1942, in Banks County, the son of the late Plumer D. and Ola Mae Brady Ausborn. He was preceded in death by brothers, Wilburn and Young Ausborn. Mr. Ausborn was a retired dry wall contractor with over 40 years of service and he was a member of the Currahee Baptist Church.

Survivors include his loving wife, Martha Turpin Ausborn, Toccoa; daughter, Linda Ausborn, Canon; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Brandy Turpin, Toccoa; sons, Dwayne Ausborn and Edward Ausborn, both of Toccoa, Marvin Ausborn, Waterloo, Iowa, and Buddy Ausborn, Canon; sisters, Carolyn Turpin and Patricia Murray, both of Carnesville, and Gail McFarlin and Glenda Sutton, both of Toccoa; brothers, Roger Ausborn and Morris Ausborn, both of Toccoa; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Luther Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 30, at the funeral home.
