Roy Parks (3-27-12)

AUBURN – Roy E. Parks, 90, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012.

Born in Barrow County, he was the son of John W. and Eula Cruce Parks. He was a retired restaurant owner and was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Parks was preceded in death by brothers, Ernest Parks, Howell Parks; sisters, Sammie Hutchins, Pauline Banks, Johnnie Smith and Jennie Mae Sloan.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Mae Helton Parks, Auburn; sons, Terry (Charlotte) Parks, Billy (Diane) Parks and John Rickey Parks, all of Auburn; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lourene Baird, Braselton.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 30, at 2 p.m. from Smith Memory Chapel with the Revs. Lee Sass and Chris Parkin officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, March 24, from 5 to 9 p.m.
