‘Sug’ Swinehart (3-27-12)

HOLLINGSWORTH COMMUNITY - Myrtle "Sug" Duckett Swinehart, 89, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at the Oaks at Scenic View in Baldwin.

She was born on July 8, 1922, in Banks County, the daughter of the late Marion R. and Anna Nunnally Duckett. Mrs. Swinehart was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Franklin Swinehart. She was a graduate of Baldwin High School. She and her late husband, Tom, were church planters for a number of years. After retirement, they moved back to the Banks and Habersham County areas. She was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church and the Fidelis Sunday School Class. Mrs. Swinehart was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Survivors include 11 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Pastor Mark Vandiver and Ken Duckett officiating. Interment will follow in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, at the funeral home.
