COMMERCE – Evelyn Mealor Sorrow, 81, died early Saturday morning, March 24, 2012, at her residence.
Born in Maysville, she was the daughter of the late Evans and Pratt Burke Mealor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hayward William Sorrow; and two sisters, Sue Mealor and Mary Lou Bishop.
Survivors include her children, Janice Ramsey, Joanne Sorrow, Jill Sorrow and Joel Sorrow, all of Commerce; grandchildren, Jordan Ramsey, Erin Ramsey, Nathan Sorrow, Andrew Sorrow and Amanda Joy Sorrow; siblings, Jesse Mealor, Jefferson, Billy Mealor, Lula, and Millie Vaughn, Commerce; and seven nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 26, at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with Bro. Jesse Mealor and Bro. Joel Sorrow officiating. Burial will be in the Midway United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
