Carmen Bowling McDonald, 88, of Jefferson, died Thursday, August 28, 2008.
Born in Tuscaloosa, Ala., she was a retired bookkeeper, and was a member of the Jefferson Presbyterian Church, where she served as an Elder and church historian. She was a member of the Presbyterian Women. She worked at Brookley Field, Mobile, Ala., during World War II as an engine inspector, where she met her late husband, Harrison McDonald Sr.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Harrison McDonald Jr. and Sandra McDonald, Kenneth and Sylvia McDonald, all of Jefferson; grandchildren, Morgan and Jessica McDonald, Ken and Stacy McDonald, Alicia McDonald and Kristy and Austin Gamble; and a great-grandchild, Kendall McDonald.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 31, at 2 p.m., at the Jefferson Presbyterian Church with Minister Michael Jarrett officiating. Burial will be in Woodbine Cemetery in Jefferson. Serving as pallbearers will be Morgan McDonald, Ken McDonald, Austin Gamble, Jim Champion, Lynn Wood, Henry Doster and Danny Waters. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 30, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
