COMMERCE - Troy Higdon, 62, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012.

A native of Franklin N.C., he was the son of the late Fred and Kate Williams Higdon and was a retired telephone contractor. Mr. Higdon was preceded in death by brothers, Bill and Coy Higdon; sisters, Iva Lee Clouse, Ruby Speed, Ruth Oden, Rachel Ruth, and Frankie Higdon.

Survivors include sons, Todd (Stephanie) Higdon, Chris (Susan) Higdon, Troy James (Amber) Higdon, and Justin (Gwen) Higdon; brother, Robert Higdon; sisters; Bonnie Bradley, Virginia (Roscoe) Howard, and Mildred (Andy) Bradley; grandchildren, Dylan, Seth, Darien, Natalie, Ella, Kaylee, Grace, Olivia, and Knox.

Funeral services will be held Friday March 16, at 2 p.m. at Canaan Baptist Church with the Revs. David Strickland, Ronia Hunter, and Gary McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Nephews will be pallbearers.

Brown Chapel, Danielsville, has charge of arrangements.
