DANIELSVILLE - Aubrey Kenneth Ginn, 75, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012 after a courageous nine-month battle with cancer.
He was born August 31, 1936, the son Willie Lester and Beulah Evans Ginn in Jackson County, Georgia. Mr. Ginn was preceded in death by brothers, Herman and Edwin Ginn; and sisters, Myrtle Ginn Adams and Maryelle Ginn Lineberry.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 52 years, Jean Strickland Ginn; son, Brian Kenneth (Bojana) Ginn; grandson, Vuk Kenneth Ginn, Decatur; mother-in-law, Mildred Strickland, Danielsville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Betty and Max Sartain, Danielsville; brother-in-law, Bobby (Beth) Adams, Ila; sister-in-law, Sue Ginn, Hull; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, Kenneth was a longtime member of Union Baptist Church. Retired from both Chevron Oil and Wal-Mart, he enjoyed golf, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his children and beloved grandson. A lifelong fan of Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley, Kenneth shared both their sharecropper roots and US Army Service in Germany. He enjoyed sports and was a charter member of the Madison County Touchdown Club, remaining active in the club until his illness.
Funeral services will be held at Union Baptist Church, Highway 106, Friday, March 16, at 2:30 p.m., conducted by the Revs. W.D. Thomason and Billy Owensby. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jay Adams, Justin Miller, George Lineberry, Jr., Chris Lineberry, Greg Sartain, and Aaron Sartain.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lord & Stephens, Danielsville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Union Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
