Brenda Smith (3-9-12)

ATHENS – Brenda J. Smith, 58, died Friday, March 9, 2012, at the St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens.

She was born in West Virginia, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Janet Louise Beard Bennett.

Survivors include her husband, David V. Smith Sr., Athens; children, Mary Purvis, Homer, Janet Michelle Wills, Commerce, and David V. Smith Jr., Jefferson; siblings, Sandy Chandler, Clermont, Lawrence D. Bennett, West Virginia, and Jimmy Williams, Athens; six grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 11, from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Fowler officiating. Burial was in the Grey Hill Cemetery.

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.
