Donna Spurgeon (3-9-12)

SUWANEE - Donna Marie Spurgeon, 56, passed away Friday, March 9, 2012, with her family by her side.

She was born August 19, 1955, in Providence, R.I. the daughter of Joseph Castro Sr. and Sharon Castro of Coventry, Rhode Island. Upon moving to Georgia, she later joined Publix Super Markets, Inc. and most recently was Customer Service Manager at the Hoschton location. Her interests included her family, gardening and traveling.

Survivors in addition to her parents include her husband of 20 years, Trent Spurgeon; daughter and son-in-law, Nina Marie and Brian Kirkpatrick, Pendergrass; daughter, Leah Ann Palumbo, Suwanee; grandchildren, Anna Claire and Julia Marie Kirkpatrick, both of Pendergrass; brothers, Joseph Castro, Jr., Kevin Castro, and Eric Castro, all of Rhode Island.

Memorial services were held Monday, March 12, from the chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with inurnment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. The Rev. Canon, Gray Temple officiated.

Memorial Park South Funeral Home, Flowery Branch, was in charge of arrangements.
