Marion Elizabeth Holland, 80, of Hull, died Friday, August 29, 2008.
A native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Leatus and Mary Chasteen Wilson. She was co-owner and operator of Marion and Buck’s Bait Shop for 26 years, and was Baptist. Mrs. Holland was preceded in death by a son, Steven M. Parker; brother, Charles L. Wilson; and a sister, Mary Ruth Hall.
Survivors include her husband, Sylvester “Buck” Holland; daughter and son-in-law, Leta and Alan Privette, Waxhaw, N.C.; grandchildren, Monica and Marty Wright, Jonathan and Christy Privette, Michael S. and Michelle Jones, Brandie Parker and Ginnie Ruark; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris and Paul Hanley, Commerce, Mollie and Paul Duncan, Homer, Maureen and John Tolbert, Nicholson, Grace Wood, Soddy Daisy, Tenn.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 2, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home with Dr. Stewart B. Simms Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be James Mason, Tommy Hayes, Ricky Duncan, Jeff Tolbert, Mike Mauldin and Ernie Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Open Door Sunday School Class of Beech Haven Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Monday, September 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
