‘Bill’ Palmer (2-28-12)

COMER - Wilfred Eugene "Bill" Palmer, 79, husband of Willene Porterfield Palmer, died Tuesday, February 28, 2012.

Born in Cumming, he was the son of the late George and Annie Wade Palmer. He was preceded in death by brothers, Paul, Joe, Walter, Ed, Ernest and Leonard Palmer; and sisters, Edith Caree, Pauline Seay and Dot Morris. He was a mechanic for Alexander Wood Products and a member of the Comer United Methodist Church.

Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Terry Cleveland, Hartwell; sister, Flora Brown, Colbert; grandchildren, Philip Cleveland, Caleb (Anna) Cleveland, and Charity Cleveland; and special cousin, Herman Childers.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 1, at 1 p.m. at Lord & Stephens Danielsville Chapel with the Rev. Nathan Palmer and his son-in-law, the Rev. Terry Cleveland officiating. Burial will follow at Comer Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Mary's Hospice House.
