‘Gene’ Smith (2-27-12)

DACULA - Eugene "Gene" Smith, 73, passed away Monday, February 27, 2012.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a son, Boyd Smith; four sisters; and two brothers.

He is survived by his spouse, Dorothy Smith, Dacula; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Veda Smith, Nicholson; three sisters, Grace Bradford, Lawrenceville, Virginia Hamilton, Bethlehem, and Willie England, Gainesville; seven grandchildren, Kyle Smith, Athens, Beth Smith, Commerce, Andy Clegg, Hope Mills, N.C., Brandi Brock, Commerce, and Dottie Pollard, Nicholson.

A celebration of his life will be held, Thursday, March 1, at 2 p.m. at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel with the Rev. Terry Brock officiating. Interment will follow at Gwinnett Memorial Park. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, February 29, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
