COMMERCE - Geneva Scarborough, 95, died Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Northridge Health and Rehab.
She was born in Jackson County, the daughter of the late Paul and Bertha Edwards Massey. She was a member of the Baptist denomination and was retired from Blue Bell. Mrs. Scarborough was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Allan Scarborough; and a sister, Imogene Banks.
Survivors include a son, Leroy Scarborough (Ruth), Gainesville; daughter, Loretta Wood-Tucker (Rick), Commerce; grandchildren, Melissa Tingle (Charles), Flowery Branch, Donna Wood, Commerce, Anthony Wood (Michele), Nicholson, Debra Rhoden (Stephen), Danielsville, Dennis Wood (Kathy), Ridgeley, W.Va., Tony Scarborough (Melody), Gainesville, and Terry Scarborough (Alecia), Gainesville; step-grandchildren, Richard Tucker, Cumming, and Beth Bloom, Conyers; 12 great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 1, at the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Revs. Robert Nix and Tony Scarborough officiating. Interment will follow in Wilbanks Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday night, February 29, from 6 to 8 p.m.
