Johnny Walden (2-27-12)

WINDER – Johnny M. Walden Jr., 87, died Monday, February 27, 2012.

Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Johnny Walden Sr. and Lizzie Butler Walden. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and Masonic Lodge #333 , and was retired from Rohr Aircraft Manufacturing. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Blondine B. Walden, Winder; daughters, Rhonda Lowery, Jefferson, and Gloria Doty, Norcross; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 1, at 2 p.m. from Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. Charles Walden officiating. Burial will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 12 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
