Lila Orr (2-24-12)

FLOWERY BRANCH - Lila K. Orr, 78, died Friday, February 24, 2012, at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born September 3, 1933, the daughter of the late Thurman and Gladys Kilgore of Gainesville.

She was a member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church and was retired from the Flowery Branch Post Office, where she had worked for 30 years. Mrs. Orr was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Eddie Whitfield; and brother, Jimmy Kilgore.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Franklin "Bo" Orr; son, Scott Orr, Sandy Springs; daughter, Lori Whitfield, Flowery Branch; brother, George Kilgore, Hoschton; grandchildren, Whitney Carlson, Jessica Mull, Ansley Orr, Megan Whitfield and Craig Whitfield; and step-mother, Etheleen Kilgore, Gainesville.

Funeral services were held Sunday, February 26, from the chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. The Revs. Bill Compton and Paul Wade officiated and the Rev. Dave Channell officiated at the graveside service.
