BOGART - Henry McElroy, 90, died Monday, February 20, 2012.
A native of Jersey, Georgia, he was the son of the late John and Jessie Mae Briscoe McElroy. Mr. McElroy was a retired homebuilder and was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of The Winder Wesleyan Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Veta Tanner McElroy, Bogart; children, Scott McElroy, Neal McElroy and Ricky McElroy, all of Bogart, Joe McElroy, Hoschton, Phillip McElroy, Winder, and Denise McElroy Johnson and Diane Mathis, both of Winder; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brother Bobby McElroy, Bogart.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 22, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Carter Funeral Home, with the Rev. Greg Moore officiating. Burial will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, February 21, at the funeral home.
Carter Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
