DANIELSVILLE - James Bartow Henry, 95, formerly of Norcross, died Sunday, February 19, 2012.
He was the son of the late James F. and Rosa Mae Henry. He was a United States Navy veteran who served during World War II and was a charter and life member of North DeKalb Lodge #714 F&AM and life member of American Legion Post #251. He was also a life member of the Atlanta Federation of Musicians #148 and #442 and the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame. Mr. Henry was receded in death by two sons, Ronald Dean and Steven Nicholas Henry.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda E. Henry, Danielsville; sons, Pastor Larry Henry and his wife, Jackie, Suwanee, and Jimmy Henry and his wife, Merle, Danielsville; sister, Elizabeth Petree, Greer, S.C.; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 22, from the Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home in Norcross with the Revs. James Gunn and Eddie Wiggins officiating. Burial will follow at Peachtree Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, at the Royston Church of God.
