Sam Moon (2-7-12)

WINDER - Sam W. Moon, 77, died Tuesday, February 7, 2012.

A native of Barrow County, he was the son of the late W.T. “Bill” and Lucille Rooks Moon. He was preceded in death by a sister, Willie Rose Hendrix, and was an automotive body repairman.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Moon, Winder; children, Lisa Farmer, Hoschton, Hal Moon, Jamestown, Ohio, Randy Moon, Winder, Butch Blakenship, Apopka, Fla., Donna Nelms, Winder, and Jeff Pruett, Conyers; nine grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Grizzle, Statham, Gloria Wall and Martha Whiting, both of Winder.
A memorial service was held, Saturday, February 11, from the chapel of Carter Funeral Home, with the Rev. Darrell Gilmer officiating.
