‘Doll’ Whitlock (1-24-12)

MAYSVILLE - Esther "Doll" Whitlock, 94, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

She was born in Banks County, the daughter of the late Lon and Emma Westbrooks Gowder. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and was retired from Blue Bell. Mrs. Whitlock was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Whitlock; sons, Johnny Whitlock and Lange Edward Whitlock; and daughter, Marsha Laverne Butler.

Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Ray, Homer; sons, Bobby Whitlock, Baldwin, and Lewis Whitlock, Lula; brother, Billy Gowder, Athens; ten grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 26, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with the Revs. James Duncan and Gerald Beatty officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday night, January 25, from 5 to 9 p.m.
