Ruby Grace Caudell, 79, of Homer, died Sunday, August 24, 2008, at her residence.
Born in Franklin County on October 10, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Eurith Umbehand Robertson. She was an active member of the congregation of the original Damascus Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir, taught Vacation Bible School, and was active in the WMU. She was a 60-year resident of Grady Community, Banks County, and will always be remembered for her love of family, friends, and kind and thoughtful ways to those who were sick or in need.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, P.G. Caudell Jr., Homer; daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn Tieger and Elliott Brown, Washington, DC, Debbie and Josh Hope, Hoschton, Kathy and David Cobb, Alto; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 17, at 2 p.m., at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Revs. Terry Rice and Jim McClendon officiating. Burial will be in the original Damascus Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, August 26, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
