Margaret Nation (01-06-12)

MAYSVILLE – Margaret Lucille Nation, 85, died Friday, January 6, 2012, at Hill Haven Nursing Home in Commerce.

Born in Banks County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Earle and Ellen Davis Whitehead. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Nation was preceded in death by three children, Linda Allison, John Nation and Bill Nation.

Survivors include children, Patsy Hudgins, Deborah Mason and Donald Nation, all of Maysville, Joyce Hovator, Mena, Ariz., Janice Lichliter, Anderson, S.C., JoAnn Lathan, Lugoff, S.C., Dennis Nation and Ricky Nation, both of Commerce; 21 grandchildren; several great and great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Closed casket graveside services and interment will be conducted Saturday, January 7, at 2 p.m., from the Banks County Memorial Gardens in Homer with the Rev. William Campbell officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home Saturday from 1 to 1:30 p.m.
