JEFFERSON - Clara Lou Harris Wilson, 98, died on Wednesday, January 4, 2012.
She was born in Jackson County, the daughter of the late James Lafayette and Clara Evaline Pittman Harris. Mrs. Wilson worked for Carwood Manufacturing for 23 years and Wilkins Industries for 10 years. She was a homemaker, a member of the Thyatira-Olney Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Crawford Long Chapter of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Wilson was a graduate of the Martin Institute of Jefferson. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by husband, Webbie Wilson; daughter, Lou Ann Wilson Bell; and grandson, David Wilhite.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jere and James Wilhite, Jefferson; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel W. and Nancy Wilson, Jefferson; son-in-law, John Bell, Jefferson; 10 grandchildren, Steve Bell, Julie Stansel, Linda Bryson, Mike Bell, Marc Bell, Jamie Bell, Marie Heine, Diane W. Minish, Denyce Wilson, and Dan Wilson; and a number of great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 6, at 3 p.m. from Thyatira-Olney Presbyterian Church with Minister Tom Plank officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery with Steve Bell, Mike Bell, Marc Bell, Jamie Bell, Dan Wilson and David Minish honored as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
