AUBURN - Melinda Karen Ann “Lindy” Mitchell, 48, died Sunday, December 25, 2011.
Born March 15, 1963 in Easton, Pa., she was the daughter of Sandra Rachel Brown Schramm and Eric Theodore Schramm. She attended George Walton High School in Marietta. She loved sports, especially football, and was a devoted fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Falcons since moving to Georgia. Her special football team was the San Francisco 49er’s since early childhood. Lindy enjoyed writing, country music and concerts. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed by all that knew this wonderful lady.
Survivors include her husband of 14 years, Walter H. Mitchell, III, Auburn; daughters, Angel Idelle Carlisle and fiancé Dale Wiley, Buford, and Swayae Rose Louise Chambers and her husband Cliff, Auburn; five grandchildren, Tony, Trevor, Trent, Jasmine and Alexis; seven siblings, Swayae and Bill Steiner, Bethlehem, Pa., Heidi and Kurt Steiner, Orlando, Fla., Gretchen Isaacs and fiancé Antonio Daniel, Stone Mountain, Christopher Merring of Montana, Andrew Koose of Georgia, Becky and Mark Levine, and Beth Koose, all of Boston, Mass.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 31, from 12 until 2 p.m. at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel with a sharing time of memories and stories about Mrs. Mitchell’s life at 2 p.m. At her request, cremation will follow.
Tom M. Wages Funeral Home, Lawrenceville, is in charge of arrangements.
