HOSCHTON – James Edward Hayes, Sr. age 71, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2011, at his residence following a period of declining health.
A native of Jackson County, Mr. Hayes was a son of the late Hubert L. and Lillie Mae Self Hayes. Mr. Hayes had worked for Wicks Mobile Homes in Winder, Ga. for over 20 years and also at Mitsubishi in Braselton for over nine years before retiring. Mr. Hayes was a longtime member at the Center United Methodist Church in Hoschton.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Hayes, Hoschton; son, James Edward (Karen) Hayes Jr., McDonough; daughter, Nancy (Larry) Christmas, Douglasville; son, Eddie (Debbie) Hayes, Athens; son, Keith Hayes, Hoschton; grandchildren, Will Harm; Jonothan Harm; Tyler Hayes; Tiffany Hayes; William Harm; Jonathan Harm; Kari Hayes; Jessica Hayes; Robert Hayes; Jacob Hayes; Alicia Hayes; Caleb Hayes; Savannah Hayes; great-grandchildren Will Harm; Sean Harm; Ben Harm; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Monday December 26 at 2 p.m. at Center United Methodist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Blane Spence will officiate the service. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 26 at Center United Methodist Church from 1:00 until the hour of the funeral service. Grandsons will have the honor of serving as pallbearers and granddaughters, Alicia Hayes and Tiffany Hayes, will serve as honorary pallbearers.
