Harvey Carnes (12-16-11)

LAWRENCEVILLE – Harvey M. Carnes, 89, died Friday, December 16, 2011.

Born in Dawson, Ala., he was the son of the late James A. and Laura Roberts Carnes. He was a World War II veteran. Mr. Carnes was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille Carnes, Lawrenceville; sons and daughter-in-law, Rick Johnson, Lawrenceville, and Scott and Debbie Scarborough, Corydon, Ky.; daughter and son-in-law, Del and Joey Lovinggood, Winder; grandchildren, Crystal and James Majors and Tiffany and Justin Langley; and one great-grandson, Brayden Joshua Langley.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 19, at 4 p.m., from Smith Memory Chapel with Chaplin Scott Scarborough officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Birmingham, Ala.

Smith Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
