Betty Jane Fleming Bryant, 75, of Snellville, died Thursday, August 21, 2008.
She was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Lucy Fleming. Mrs. Bryant was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Sharrine Casstevens; and a brother, Laclade Fleming.
She was raised on a farm between Comer and Danielsville and attended Colbert School from elementary through high school, graduating with honors and was class salutatorian. Following her marriage, she and her husband begun a journey that would, under God’s direction, take them as pastors into five states. They spent 45 years in pastoral ministry and five years as evangelists. She excelled as a teacher and counselor, organizing and directing several ministries that left a profound and lasting influence on hundreds of youth and young married couples. She was known for her quick mind and sense of humor and made friends wherever she went, and never forgot a name.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Bryant; grandson, Brandal Casstevens, Lawrenceville; sisters, Frances Knight, Comer, and Marjorie Parham, Snellville; and brothers, Frank Fleming and Hewatt Fleming, both of Comer.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 23, in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. and Mrs. Derald Musgrove officiating. Burial was in Meadow Cemetery. Pallbearers were Scott Fleming, Gordy Knight, Tyson Culberson, Steve Fleming, Roger Parham and David Culberson.
Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, was in charge of arrangements.
