DECATUR – Ralph Lee Howard, 86 passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2011.
Mr. Howard was born in Jefferson, a son to the late Ernest Lee and Almeda E. Carruth Howard. Mr. Howard was retired from General Motors in Doraville, and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II in the South Pacific Theater. Mr. Howard was a member of the Oak Grove Methodist Church in Decatur and an avid member of the Airstream Club.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Brown Howard, Decatur; son and daughter-in-law, Ernest Lee and Zoe Howard II, Marietta; sister, Elaine Sims, Decatur; brother, Dwight Howard, Dawsonville; sister, Jean Hayes, Jefferson; two grandchildren, Forrest Howard and Garrett Howard.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 18 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Kent Burel officiating. The burial will follow in the Howard Family Cemetery in Jefferson. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m., one hour prior to the service.
