Betty Jean Smith (12-7-11)

HULL - Betty Jean (Williams) Smith, 75, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 7, 2011.

She was the daughter of the late Roy and Helen Williams and sister of the late Benny Williams. She was a member of Moon's Grove Baptist Church and retired from Rich's after 25 years.

Those left remembering her with great love are her devoted husband of 55 years, Horace Smith; children, Tammy (Brian) Smith, Jacksonville, Fla., and Mark Smith, Chesapeake, Va.; grandchildren, David Smith, Jacksonville, Fla. and Ian, Sarah and Carter Smith, Chesapeake, Va.; and many other friends and family.

The family especially wishes to acknowledge the love and care shown by Birdie Nix over the last few years and the kindness and care given by the 4th floor nurses at Athens Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 10, at Moon's Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Dial officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
