Nettie Mae Holder Tate, 80, of Gainesville, died Sunday, August 17, 2008, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, following an extended illness.
She was born in Jackson County, the daughter of the late George Washington and Lillie Hopkins Holder. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Tate was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Tate; a daughter, Linda Tate; brothers, Horace Holder and Walter Holder.
Survivors include daughters, Jo Evelyn Tate and Sara Ann Tate, both of Athens, Gussie Park, Oglethorpe; sons, Lee Tate and Robert Tate, both of Winder, and Eddie Tate, Arcade; a sister, Katie Chester, Gainesville; brother, Fred Holder, Birmingham, Ala.; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 22, at 1 p.m., at Cornerstone Faith Church with the Rev. John Garrett officiating. Mrs. Tate’s remains will be available for viewing 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 21, at the funeral home until the funeral hour.
Memorial Park Funeral Home, Gainesville, is in charge of arrangements.
