PENDERGRASS - John Perdue Jr., 81, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011.
He was born in Jackson County, the son of the late John and Rhodia Wilson Perdue Sr. Mr. Perdue was a manager with Tanners Food Store, was a member of the Pendergrass Baptist Church, and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was preceded in death by a son, James William Perdue; and brother, J.L. Perdue.
Survivors include his wife Alice Perdue, Pendergrass; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Terry Rainwater, Macon; son, Dennis Perdue, Pendergrass; grandson, Scott Rainwater, Athens; sister, Wilma Hill, Homer; brothers, Donald Perdue, Gillsville, and Tommy Perdue, Cleveland.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 7, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Revs. Vince Mercardante and Ripp Goss officiating. The burial will follow at the Pendergrass Baptist Church Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 6 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
